Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric Tea Recipe (Golden Milk)
There are countless uses for turmeric, including but not limited to treating:
- acidity
- stomach pain, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis
- Diarrhea
- intestinal gas
- bloating
- loss of appetite
- jaundice
- liver problems
- stomach ulcers
- irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- high cholesterol
- inflammation of the skin from radiation therapy
- fatigue
- Also used for headaches, bronchitis, colds, lung infections, fibromyalgia, fever, menstrual problems, itchy skin, recovery after surgery, cancers, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, fluid retention, urinary bladder inflammation and kidney problems.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of cow's milk (can be substituted for unsweetened coconut or almond milk + 1 teaspoon of almond or coconut oil)
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- large pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- 1 small piece (1/4 inch) ginger root (peeled and grated) and 1 fresh cinnamon stick
- 1 large pinch or a pinch of ground cardamom
- ¼ teaspoon raw honey added from the heat (optional)
Preparation
1. Mix all the ingredients in a pot.
2. Heat over low heat for a maximum of 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Don't let it boil.
3. Consume
Tip: Mix the ingredients in a blender for a foamier drink.
